Just like all other Dyson products, the DYSON DC17 Animal Cyclone Upright Vacuum Cleaner promises reliable and efficient suction power that does not lose its capacity to gather dirt and does not in any way get clogged. It has a Level 3 Root Cyclone technology that prevents the collected dirt from going out to the air with the use of three cyclones. This machine enables users to clean their homes in the most effective manner by providing different settings that would cater to all types of floors and a finer system that separates dust from other kinds of dirt.

This machine was mainly designed to pick up pet hair making it a lot more capable in cleaning houses with animal inhabitants than any other vacuum brands. The feature that is best for homes of pet lovers does not limit the machine’s capacity to clean, though, for it has several attachments that could be used to clean other areas of the house. There are eight additional smaller suction cyclones that have greater power than 1 or 2 larger cyclones. The HEPA filter also brings a lot of benefits to people with allergies.

One negative comment, though, was the inexistence of a low-reach tool that could be used for cleaning hard to reach areas such as under beds and sofas. Only smaller brushbars were included. The complains for its heavy weight still prevails but nevertheless, Dyson products still continue to be worth the price the users pay for it.
